DC motor employed with Piezoelectric

DC motor employed with Piezoelectric

This chapter presents the electromechanical
technique for the
piezoelectric PZT (Lead Zirconate Titanate).
The electromechanical characteristic of the
studied PZT would be analyzed based on
experiments while the investigation of the
energy generation was shown in Figure 6.1
which used a DC motor which employed as
the mechanical force source. It used to
control the action which would make contacts to one of the piezoelectric PZT arm
at the frequency 1 Hz. The output voltage
waveform, VP, generated from the PZT is
observed, investigated and measured the
value at each touching step.

Damping Factors: Piezoelectric in Prosthetics

Damping Factors

The voltage source was used as the
proposed model. The main internal
parameters are as following:

- the output resistance RP
- the output capacitance CP

They are measured by a RCL meter (Fluke
PM6306).
The duration of the voltage response from
Figure 6.2 can be modelled as a secondorder
parallel RLC circuit. The resonance
equation can be express as a function of
complex frequency (S1 and S2), which was
used to determine the values of R, L and C.
